Frequently asked questions
Foam latex is a material that can be best described as spongelike. It is a very flexible material that moves with the wearers' face. This is the most common type of material used in Hollywood Film.
Foam latex appliances are put on with a glue like material . We prefer the "Spirit Gum" brand but there are others out there. The Spirit Gum is applied to the mask and then placed on the skin. When applied properly, it will move with every move of the face.

How many times can I use it?
Although a foam latex mask won't last forever, by properly caring for the mask, you can wear it multiple times. A recent customer of ours has stated that he wore the mask 13 times before he had to consider buying a new one. Again, it was definitely cared for properly. Average use is about 7-10 times. Everything you need to know about care will be included with your purchase

Can I buy it already made up?
We do prepaint our masks on a case by case basis. There will obviously be an extra charge. We encourage our customers to do their own work to make the mask truly unique.
+
If I buy it prepainted, is the makeup permanent?
Yes. All pre-done masks are painted with a specialized foam paint that has an elongation factor of 600. This means the paint will stretch and move with the mask and will not crack or cause the mask to feel stiff.
+
What kind of make up should I use?
The best case scenario is to use the foam paint. This has two advantages. The first is that it does stretch and will not crack while on the mask. The second is that once it is dried, you apply the mask to your face and do not have to worry about smearing your make up. You can also use a cream make up. There are different kinds, and a castor oil base is recommended over a petroleum based. We are currently working with our supplier to offer foam paint in small affordable sizes to our customers.
